Audio sounds good to local companies
Located 10 miles from Philadelphia in Marlton, New Jersey, partners
George Martindell and Frank Sonsini at Science Friction Scoring/Sound
Design score films, animations, TV docs and are now eyeing the video
game market.
The duo records digitally by multi-tracking with a
Roland 16-track console; their instrumental roster includes Sonsini's
Roland Guitar synthesizer and Nord and Korg keyboards. Martindell
provides percussion and uses myriad electronic drum sets, mainly from
Roland and Alesis, and acoustic drums.
"We're working with animator Robert Feldman on his
cartoon series, Dr. Shroud, which was released on DVD and
is now being shopped by some animation networks," Martindell reports.
Science Friction also scores the E! TV show Taradise,
starring Tara Reid, and is wrapping a score for an Indie horror
film show in HD in Memphis. The duo has also worked on horror
films shot in Texas, Vancouver and Toronto; other business has come
from New York City.
